When you open the package you'll find two combat ready remote control helicopters and two controllers. The controllers have the all impressive fire buttons, however instead of laser blasts you get the dulcet tones of a machine gun. Batteries are not included- you're going to need 12 AA batteries to load up the controllers, so be sure to pick those up first. The remote control helicopters are fun and responsive- but not nearly as fun as when you nail your opponent and watch him spin out of control. Hours of quality entertainment for kids- or the kids in all of us. You can see a video of the Air Hogs in action below (click the picture, the dog fight starts about a minute in), including camera footage from the perspective of one the helicopters.

Nitro RC cars are taking over the industry. Yes, you can go to the local toy store and purchase any remote control car that runs using batteries and you will likely spend very little money. However, you will also get very little performance. RC cars are not just for kids. Many adults are making this into a wonderfully fun hobby. Whether you are a new hobbyist or have always been a fan of RC cars, nitro is the way to go!

Nitro RC cars run on a special fuel mixture. They are often misrepresented as running on gas. The truth is that you cannot just go to the local gas station and fill up your remote control car. The mixture is made of oil, methanol, and nitro methane. This means that you will have to specially order fuel, but it is worth the little bit of extra effort.

There are many benefits to the nitro RC car that battery operated versions cannot compare to. If you want an RC car that truly performs, then you need to go with nitro. The first several times you run your nitro car, you may feel slightly disappointed with the performance, but it is simply because the car needs time to be broken in. Once this short period is over, the nitro RC car runs faster (think 75 mph on some vehicles) and smoother than their battery operated counterparts.

There are nitro versions of all different vehicles. There are cars made specifically for off-road and others made for the street. There are cars that will run well both on and off road. There are buggies and even helicopters. There are few limits when it comes to nitro RC cars.

Remote control cars are great because they can be recharged. The problem is that they constantly need to be recharged. A single gallon of fuel will refuel a nitro RC car for several hours before needing to be refilled.

The most important thing for you to remember when you first purchase your new nitro RC car is to carefully read the instruction manual. Yes, we know that you are completely competent and can manage to run your new toy on your own however you need to learn how to clean, maintain, upgrade, and tune your new toy as well. It would be a shame to ruin a brand new and expensive nitro RC car simply because you chose not to read the manual.

The most important thing is to have fun with your new nitro RC car. It is a wonderful hobby that can be shared with family and friends and provide hours of fun. With so many options available, it may be difficult to choose just one vehicle, but eventually maybe you will be able to try every nitro RC car!

If you heard the noise over the weekend, it wasn't coming from Sebring International Raceway, instead, the sounds of racing were emanating from the Remote Control Pro Series competition at the old clay pits in Avon Park. More than 123 of the best racers, of all ages, came to Avon Park from around the United States as well as Canada to compete in the two-day, National RC Pro Series East Division competition.
